Top names in modern rhythm music and jazz this October at House of Culture in a full-evening festival!
Speak No Evil is a festival focusing on modern rhythm music and jazz, taking over the entire House of Culture on Saturday, October 25, 2025. All performances are included in the price of a single ticket, and the legendary venue offers high-quality food and drink service. House of Culture’s doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program runs from early evening until midnight. Detailed event schedules can be found below.
The evening will feature top names in modern rhythm music and jazz, including U.S. artist Ganavya — who made her Finnish debut at Flow Festival — the experimental electro-jazz-pop band KNOWER, and Adrian Younge, celebrated as a master of vintage-inspired soul, funk, and jazz. Both KNOWER and Younge will be performing in Helsinki for the first time.
The domestic crown jewel of the lineup is The Five Corners Quintet, a major phenomenon in Finnish jazz in the early 2000s. Known for their dance floor–friendly jazz, the group is making a long-awaited comeback this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album Chasin’ The Jazz Gone By.
Speak No Evil will be the band’s only concert of the autumn, following their summer appearances at Pori Jazz and Flow Festival. The stellar lineup features Finnish jazz greats Timo Lassy, Jukka Eskola, Mikael Jakobsson, Antti Lötjönen, and Teppo Mäkynen.
Adrian Younge & His Orchestra (US)
Adrian Younge is a Los Angeles-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his cinematic blend of soul, funk, and jazz rooted in vintage analog sound.
His work often draws from 1970s blaxploitation film scores, combining rich orchestration with deep grooves and socially conscious themes.
Younge has collaborated with artists like Ghostface Killah, The Delfonics, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, with whom he co-created the Jazz Is Dead series.
KNOWER (US)
KNOWER is an experimental electro-funk duo from Los Angeles, formed by drummer-producer Louis Cole and vocalist Genevieve Artadi.
Known for their virtuosic musicianship, genre-defying sound, and high-energy live performances, they blend elements of funk, jazz, electronic music, and pop into a futuristic, DIY aesthetic.
Since their formation in 2010, KNOWER has gained a global following through viral videos, boundary-pushing albums, and collaborations with artists like Snarky Puppy and Thundercat. KNOWER will perform at Speak No Evil with full band.
ganavya (US)
Having made her Finnish debut at Flow Festival, ganavya returns to Helsinki to perform twice in October at the Speak No Evil festival. The artist, whose music blends influences from spiritual jazz and the South Indian Carnatic tradition, is currently experiencing a strong international rise, and Helsingin Sanomat highlighted her in its Flow preview as one of the festival’s potential "discoveries". Ganavya’s performance at Flow’s Kellohalli was met with admiration.
The Five Corners Quintet (FI)
The Five Corners Quintet is a Finnish jazz ensemble that gained international acclaim in the early 2000s for their dancefloor-friendly blend of hard bop, Latin jazz, and modern production.
The group revitalized interest in jazz among younger audiences with their debut album Chasin’ the Jazz Gone By (2005).
Featuring top Finnish jazz musicians like Timo Lassy and Jukka Eskola, the band became a key force in the Nordic jazz scene and a favorite on club and festival stages worldwide.
